Everyone has that a family favorite recipe that they know is golden to make. This one comes from my childhood.
I always liked it when my mom made it growing up. My brother…not so sure on.
It’s a very simple recipe too.
It’s something that you can throw together very quickly and toss in the oven for a while and then eat…well I’d let it cool off first.
It’s so cheesy and yummy.
It’s favorite among our family…well at least I think so. String Bean didn’t want to eat it tonight even though he said he liked it. Someone explain that one.
Go ahead and try it!
1 whole Kielbasa-I used Polska Kielbasa
4-6 whole potatoes, cubed this time around I used red potatoes but you can use whatever you’ve got on hand..I also used only 4 of them.
1 c. milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup (or whatever cream soup you want–I used mushroom)
2 c. shredded cheese, divided
Preheat oven to 375. Grease 9×13 baking dish. Cube potatoes and put into dish. Cut up the kielbasa into pieces about the same size as the potatoes, add to dish. I like a bit more meat to potato ratio so I cut them pretty small. Sprinkle with black pepper and garlic salt. In a separate bowl, combine milk, cream soup and 1 1/2 c. of the cheese. Pour over the other ingredients, stirring to incorporate. Cover tightly with foil and bake for an hour. Remove the foil and sprinkle remaining cheese. Bake an additional 15 minutes.
