Hello everyone! How are you on this fine Thursday?
Mr. Newman and I have been living in our home for 3 years now..woot!!
I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog all the things we have done with our home since moving in. We really don’t have to do much being as it was a brand spanking new home (not custom-built for us) when we bought it. But we’ve made it our own in time.
So to kick off a series that I’ll be doing a monthly post on each room, I’ll be starting with our upstairs living room.
This is what it looked like during the moving process.
Boxes everywhere, no furniture. To be honest, we didn’t have any furniture in that room for a whole two months. *Gasp!* I know! But, we had to finance the furniture to put in there right? We weren’t about to go into debt to finish the room right away. So that’s what it looked like.
Today, it looks so much better.
Especially with a Christmas tree! 🙂
We just added a few pieces of kid friendly furniture, a couple of end tables and lamps and hung up our pictures that were laying on the floor when we moved in. The room has not been painted for the sole reason that it would take us a long time to paint it. In case you hadn’t noticed, the living room is open to the entryway below, which leads to downstairs and it is open to the kitchen and the hallway upstairs. With that being said, we’d either need to paint in phases, like start in the downstairs and work our way up and paint up there or take one week or so and paint everything all at once. Also, you can’t really see it in any of these pictures but there is a spot in the far corner of the entryway that would be tough spot to paint because there are stairs going downstairs and very very high ceilings. It’s quite of a bit of a challenge we have yet to figure out. 🙂 But…when we do paint we plan to paint it this color.
I’m excited for the day that we get to paint it!
That’s it for now, come back next month for the next room tour of our home!
