In exactly one week it will be Thanksgiving.
Overindulgence here I come. Right?
Thanksgiving is not all about pumpkin pie, turkey or football, it’s about being grateful for those things and so much more.
For the next week until Thanksgiving I will be writing about one thing ( or more) that I am grateful for.
So to kick off this week of gratefulness, this post is about, you guessed it…friends!
I am very much grateful for all the friends I have in my life.
I know, I know, I just did a post about friendships recently. Big whoop. I think friendships are important to everyone and I’m ever so grateful for my friends.
I can’t list all my friends and reasons why I’m grateful for them in this blog post, that would take forever. I will highlight a couple of my bestest best friends. 🙂
Mama Laura. Oh Mama Laura (also, if you’re reading this Laura, you may need some tissues ;)).
Where do I start. Hmm…I am so grateful you are in my life. You are, and I say this many a time, my bestie. I have a feeling we are going to be those crazy old ladies in the coffee shop years down the road laughing our bums off and possibly on the verge of getting kicked out. You make me smile, you make me laugh, you make me blush with your hilarious stories, and you make me strive to be a better mama. I honestly, and I say this frequently to you, think there was a reason Mr. Newman and I were meant to become members at Valley, to meet you and your wonderful family. Thank you for being a sounding board on so many occasions.
Miss Kitty. Meow. 🙂
I am grateful for our friendship. I know that we’ve only been really close the last five years but we’ve known each other for 11…eesh that’s scary. I’m grateful that you are like an aunt to my boys, you treat them like they are your nephews and I love that. I also love that your mom and pops treat me and my family like we’re part of your family. I am grateful for your supportiveness of our friendship. You are there for me, like Laura as a sounding board when I need to rant, you are there for me when I need it physically to watch my munchkins and so many other things.
You were the first person at Valley to really make me feel welcome, because you kept perusing me to have a play date. 🙂 Now look what happened…our kids are good friends, C and Turbo are best friends. We joke that N and String Bean will be married someday and now with little bitty S here he and Chunky Monkey will be best friends too! I am grateful for our talks, coffee dates when we should be in Life Group 😉 and the overall friendship we do have.

You lady…have been there for me for the past 10 years and I am so thankful I picked the best lil sister out of your pledge class, and I’m not trying to brown nose, it’s the truth, you were the best. I have so many memories with you from our pizza and movie nights every Friday, Highway Cleanup, to a Taco Bell drive thru after a mutual friend’s wedding and some other ones that are best left unmentioned. You were there for me in so many ways when not a lot of people were, and I thank you. You are my best friend and always will be.
I am grateful for all my friends in all different ways.
What are you thankful for as we head into Thanksgiving?
