Lasagna Rolls

I LOVE Lasagna. Well good lasagna.

I have had some really amazing lasagna and then I’ve had lasagna where I would pay not to eat it again.

I’ve kinda had bad relationship with making as well as eating lasagna. It seems like every time that I make lasagna {except for tonight and one other time} it turns out bad.

So awhile ago I was visiting Mr. Newman’s parents and Mama Newman made lasagna for supper one of the evenings and let me tell you, I fell in love with it! Not saying her regular lasagna recipe isn’t good {it is num-a-licous} but like I said, I fell in love and had to make it.

I browsed around the interwebs for recipes for lasagna rolls and all I could find were ones that seemed too complicated for this busy lady. Or ones that had ricotta cheese or cottage cheese in it {remember I got picky eaters} So I emailed Mama Newman for her recipe {because I know her recipe was pretty simple and that it sits well with Papa Newman} and here we go!

First you’ll want to grab 1 pound ground beef and brown that baby up with some onions. Stir in your spaghetti sauce and 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese { I just threw in a bunch. I like cheese so I didn’t bother measuring}.

Lay out your cooked noodles flat and cover eat with a 1/3 cup meat/sauce mixture. Roll up the noodles starting at the narrow end.

Place seam side down in a baking dish. Spoon the remaining sauce over noodles.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through. Throw the remaining cheeses on with a few minutes left on the timer so that it is just melted on top.

1 pound ground beef

1/2 c. chopped onions

8 lasagna noodles, cooked & drained

1 1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese.

  1. Glad you liked this. I actually like my regular lasagna better, but this works so good for freezing and just taking out as many as you want. Mama Newman
