String Bean’s Birthday

Today is my big boy’s birthday!

He’s turning six today. Oy.

Here he is with Daddy riding his big boy bike from Grandma and Grandpa Newman.

Today for his special day we’re skipping out on homework. Hopefully we can get outside and try out that bike riding without the training wheels while brother is sleeping.

Also I decided to make him a little something for his actual birthday as far as dessert is concerned.

I thought that maybe a little snacky type dessert would suffice since I’ll be making him an actual cake for his little party with Grandma B and Uncle Douga on Saturday.

His little dessert for today is a brownie pizza. I found this recipe probably over a year ago and just haven’t had any reason to make it until now.

I think I found the recipe over at How Sweet It Is  when I first discovered her website.

Brownie Pizza

1 box brownie mix

1 cup sliced strawberries

1 banana, sliced

caramel sauce, for drizzling

12 fun-sized candy bars, chopped (I used Snickers) (though if you’re using a pizza pan at least 5-6 should be enough)

1-2 cups cream cheese frosting

Preheat oven to 350.

Prepare brownie mix per directions. Spread batter either on a round pizza pan, or a square baking sheet. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until brownie is baked through. Let cool completely.

Spread cream cheese frosting (or whichever mixture you choose) on brownie in a thin layer. Add toppings and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving.

I can’t wait to eat it. It looks sooo yummy.
