Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Oh my goodness this week is super busy for the Newman household.

I may have mentioned this before but if not here we go…String Bean is in a musical for church and the performances are this weekend. So we’ve been extremely busy practicing his songs and driving him to practice with the other kids in the musical.

Along with the musical I’ve been trying to keep up with the cleaning and organizing the house because we’re having guests at our house who are coming to watch String Bean in the musical.

One of these guests is a cookie  monster and I didn’t have any cookies made so I thought I better get crackin’ and make some cookies for him.

These are my favorite sugar cookies. And they’re really pretty with my Christmas colored sprinkles!

Sugar Cookies

2 c. sugar

2 c. veggie oil (or any kind of oil you’ve got on hand…just not motor oil 🙂 )

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

4 c. flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

Cream together the sugar and veggie oil. Add in eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda and salt, until well combined. Roll dough into balls. To get the sprinkles on top, butter a flat-bottomed glass and dip into sprinkles and press into dough, but not too much. Bake at 350 for about 8-10 minutes..and enjoy!!
